When deciding the audience for my media products I looked at similar, existing products like NME, Q and rolling stone. Question 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product?
When creating my magazine, I learnt lots of different skills and techniques to do with technology.
At first it all seemed complicated, but after i gained understanding i was able to use types of technology with ease through out the process which allows me to gain in confidence too.
I have used lots of technology when creating my three products, the major one being Photoshop. I have never used Photoshop before, except when completing my preliminary task, so creating the three products was a learning experience for me. I learnt what tools Photoshop has, the things it can do and the way to manipulate images to create the best outcome.
As well as Photoshop I have used lots of different technologies some that I have previously used and others that were new to me.
Here is a list of the things I have used in the process:
Camera- I have previously used cameras and they allowed me to take the images I used on my three products, the camera was quite confusing because there was lots of options and features to chose from.
Memory card- This kept the image that I had taken for me to upload to the computer.
Memory stick- This is what i kept my work on through out the process, it was good because it held a lot of files for such a small device allowing me to carry it with me and use it on different computers. However memory sticks are easily misplaced.
Computers- I needed to use computers to achieve my 3 products because I used the programs on them and the internet, computers gave me lots of opportunities to get the best outcome.
Apple Mac computers- I have never used a mac before it took me a while to get used to them but afterwards they were a great new technology to complete me three products.
Blogger- Throughout the process I posted my creations on blogger, blogger is a great way to keep the process to see the start to finish, it is easy to use allowed me to gain more skills like posting and converting things from one media and site to another.
Publisher- I have used publisher before so I was already confident when using it in the process, i used it to create columns in my double page spread article.
Prezi- Is a great alternative to power point that adds excitement to the presentation.
Go animate- This is a good way to get a point across, it is fun and easy to do, it is also a way to be creative. However you can only make a 30 second video unless you subscribe.
Windows movie maker- This allowed me to put images and text in a video so it flowed from point to point also showing the skills i have learnt through the process.
Fonts space- I used this site to create my masthead, it had a wide range of fonts however the colours were limited.
Question 7
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

If I could could re- do my college magazine knowing what I know now I would, research, get to know my target audience what they want to see and how to target the price. I would add more cover lines to make to cover more exiting and more like a real magazine. I would also add a plug this attracts the audience.
